Charting Last Week (7/25 - 7/29/16)

The Daily Leading Index decreased by 0.25% percentage points to 1.85%. The Daily Coincident Index is at 2.30%. The Daily Leading Index page on the tab above is updated daily during the week.
Stock and Bond prices were mostly up for the week. The Fed fund futures are implying no more rate hikes for over a year. The Fed Funds futures are implying only a 42.4% chance of a rate hike by July 2017 according CME Group's FedWatch tool. The red (or green) area indicates 2-3 standard deviations above (or below) the normal 21 day trading range. The gray area indicates 1-2 standard deviations above (or below) the normal 21 day trading range.
The Leading Indicator for International Developed Markets (EFA) decreased by 0.09% percentage points to 0.60%. The Leading Indicator for International Emerging Markets (EEM) increased to 2.95%. Charting Last Week (7/18 - 7/22/16)

The Daily Leading Index increased by 0.43% percentage points to 2.11%. The Daily Coincident Index increased to 2.30%. The Daily Leading Index page on the tab above is updated daily during the week.
The S&P 500 increased modestly for the week hitting another high on Friday. The Fed fund futures are implying no more rate hikes this year. The next expected rate hike is in March 2017. The Fed Funds futures are implying a 53.9% chance of a rate hike by March 2017 up from a 51.9% chance last week according CME Group's FedWatch tool. Charting Last Week (7/11 - 7/15/16)

The Daily Leading Index decreased by 0.77% percentage points to 1.68%. The Daily Coincident Index increased to 2.30%. The Daily Leading Index page on the tab above is updated daily during the week.
The S&P 500 hit its all-time high on Thursday. The Fed fund futures are implying no more rate hikes this year. Just two months ago, the futures were predicting a rate hike this July. Now the next expected rate hike is in March 2017. The Fed Funds futures are now implying a 51.9% chance of a rate hike by March 2017 up from a 26.4% chance last week according CME Group's FedWatch tool. Charting Last Week (7/5 - 7/8/16)

The Daily Leading Index increased by 0.09% percentage points to 2.54%. The Daily Coincident Index is at 2.00%. The Daily Leading Index page on the tab above is updated daily during the week.
US equities continued rally after the initial Brexit downturn. The S&P 500 is close to its all-time high. Yields on the 10 year Treasury closed the week at their lowest level ever at 1.358%. The Fed fund futures are implying no more rate hikes this year. Just six weeks ago, the futures were predicting a rate hike this July. Now the next expected rate hike is more than a year out. The Fed Funds futures are now implying a only a 27.5% chance of a rate hike by June 2017 and a 2.2% chance of a rate cut according CME Group's FedWatch tool. Charting Last Week (6/27 - 7/1/16)

The Daily Leading Index increased by 0.27% percentage points to 2.45%. The Daily Coincident Index is at 1.93%. The Daily Leading Index page on the tab above is updated daily during the week.
The market rebounded sharply after falling Monday and finished the week with strong gains. Yields on the 10 year Treasury briefly fell to their lowest level ever at 1.385% Friday before rebounding slightly. The Fed fund futures are implying no more rate hikes this year. Just five weeks ago, the futures were predicting a rate hike in July. The Fed Funds futures are now implying a only a 14% chance of a rate hike by February 2017 and a 2% chance of a rate cut according CME Group's FedWatch tool.
